Brumos Porsche won the Daytona 24, maybe I'll just put a 58 on the gti and give it some Brumos stripes!
What is the best way to spend the coldest day of the year? How about ripping the interior out of a car in the
middle of parking lot? Thats what we did. It was 9 when I left the house at 8, and 21 by the time I got to the office
at 10. Jeremy, Dave, and I launched into the interior and by noon it was all out. We had hopped that getting
Justin's seats into the GTI would be easy, but then we saw how the GTI seats are attached. The GTI has 3 seat rails.
The rear of the seat rides in the outer two rails which are welded to the tub, while the slider mechanism rides through
a third mechanism in the middle of the floor. We'll probably have to cut all this crap out and build new brackets
from scratch.
With the interior removed we scraped at the sound deadening and insulation until food was needed, which was solved
with a run to Bojangles around 1. Dean
arrived with the cage car, and we launched into pulling that after lunch.
The cage came out with much cursing of cross-threaded bolts, but we got it. All hail the cordless impact wrench.

5th gear is fixed, it was just a broken shift linkage, total cost $2!
We did a compression test and got some really good numbers around 175psi. This engine
is in good shape.
Took pictures of the car after getting it over to it's current home. Got to find a buyer
for the interior and the rack, we need money to offset our $500 purchase!
We bought a 1985 GTI!
